Cannot get OFF Bost's Congressional email list any more....

Once again landed on the unwanted screed-dump “Newsletter” from the pitiful excuse we here in IL-12 have for a CongressCritter.  This makes about the third or fourth time I’ve been unwillingly subscribed to his BS-spew,  but those other times I have been able to use the unsubscribe link (buried at the bottom, in just about the smallest type possible) to dump it.  Annoying to have to keep doing this, certainly, but at least it worked.

And now it doesn’t.

“CAPTCHA” is required.  (A thing which is NOT handicapped-accessible by the way, according to several studies and all my sight-challenged friends.  (Article at BeSpecular dot com about "CAPTCHA"))

Meh, yes CAPTCHA sucks, but I’ve been able to use the idiotic thing before on other web sites, so no big deal (since I am sighted).

NOPE.  “Unsupported Browser.”

“Firefox,” the most current version for Linux (as I am not so enamoured of viruses, Trojan Horse programs, Worms, and other ‘net vermin as to use ANYTHING coming out of Microsoft).  “Unsupported.”  Even tried a “user agent” mangler add-on, and still got nowhere.

So, silly me, there is a link to report issues involving the Congressional web pages, and I clicked it.  And it requires a stinking “CAPTCHA” to submit a website problem…..

Remember, this is a repeat performance which has been necessary several times before, yet NOW I cannot get unsubscribed from his propaganda mill.

(And so instead, I wrote a message filter on the server side, “Postfix” being quite accommodating that way, so that anything coming from this “Congressional” “member” goes unread straight to /dev/nul.  I am not going to be annoyed by his bullshit again, despite making it apparently impossible to get off his mailing list….  Or even complain about the damned thing.)
