First and before it becomes a question, I do not mind at all that there aren’t any of Melon Husk’s Twitxer links in here. Blue Sky or Mastodon or about anything other than the oligarch-owned sites is fine with me.
I try to keep up with the PWB groups, and the Ukrainian war news, and most of them have switched over to Blue Sky. Just came from one of the UKR war news sites, and in both the diarist’s section and the comments there were numerous Blue Sky videos listed, with the usual first-frame still as part of the link anchor.
None seem to be embedded to play inside the original browser tab; clicking on any of them opens a new browser tab to the “Blue Sky” web site, with the original Blue Sky posting text, followed by the threaded comments, but no video anywhere I can find.
Here’s the question: Must one have a “Blue Sky" log-in to actually see the videos that are linked in the diary?
If it is something like a browser setting (mine is set to be pretty well locked down) I might consider making adjustments.
If it requires a log-in ID, so be it. I will just miss seeing videos.
Other than this account on the DailyKos, I have NO visible “social media” presence. (If you find otherwise, let me know, because it isn’t me — it’s identity theft.) Not tikky-tokky-takky, no insta-scam, no twitxer, no waste-of-space-book, nothing.
I use Linux as an operating system and enforce some basic computer hygiene practices, and due to that I don’t get viruses, scammers, spammers, tons of ads, or Trojan Horse crap. I avoid crApple and Micro$haft, and if those are required, I will skip it all. I won’t start using them now. If I have to compromise that security, well, I can live nicely without videos in DailyKos diaries.
